Suitable Is Not the Same as Available
Egg freezing is available to many women. That does not mean it is suitable for every woman who can get it. Suitability depends on the reason for freezing, on age, on ovarian reserve, on general health, on expectations, on practical and financial circumstances, and on the law where a woman lives. A procedure can be perfectly appropriate for one person and a poor use of time, money and hope for another, even when they walk into the same clinic on the same day.
The Number Everyone Wants
If you are considering egg donation, you probably want one number above all others: what are the chances that it will work? It is a natural wish. The treatment is demanding and the stakes are high, and a single percentage seems like the simplest way to compare clinics and to decide whether to go ahead.
A Family Living by Two Clocks
Some of the most difficult conversations in reproductive medicine begin with a sick child. A boy or girl has a serious blood or immune disorder, and the doctors say that the best chance of a cure is a stem cell transplant. The transplant works best when the donor’s tissue type is a close match to the patient’s. A brother or sister who happens to match can be the ideal donor. But the family may have no matching sibling, and they may not find an unrelated donor in time. Then someone asks the question that brings people to a page like this one: could another child be conceived who is a tissue match for the first?
Behind Every Comment, a Person
Search for anything about in vitro fertilization and you will find comments. They sit under articles, in forums, on review sites, in group chats and in the replies to social media posts. Some are two lines long and some are small essays. Some are glowing, some are furious, some are asking for help. Together they form an enormous, unofficial library of what it feels like to go through fertility treatment, and many people turn to it in the small hours, when no clinic is open and no friend is awake.
A Center Seen From the Waiting Room
Most people meet an IVF center the way they meet any medical building: from the outside, as a name on a website and then as a door. They know that somewhere behind it, doctors, nurses and laboratory scientists do something extraordinary. What they usually do not know is what the building contains, what each space is for, and which of those spaces will matter to them.
Two Women, Two Calendars
Egg donation looks simple from a distance. One woman gives eggs, another woman receives them, and a pregnancy may follow. Up close, it is a carefully choreographed process in which two separate bodies, each with its own hormones and its own rhythm, must be brought into step. The donor follows one calendar. The recipient follows another. The art of egg donation is to make those two calendars meet on the right day, so that fresh eggs, or thawed eggs, become embryos that can be placed in a uterus that is ready for them.
The Question of the Average
Almost everyone who researches egg donation asks the same thing sooner or later: what is the average success rate? It is a sensible question. An average sounds like the middle of the road, a figure that tells you what to expect if you are a typical patient. It is easy to remember, easy to compare and easy to put in a headline.
A Promise We Can Keep and One We Cannot
When people think about a happy future with in vitro fertilization, they usually picture one thing: a baby. It is a beautiful picture, and for many families it comes true. But a page that promised it would be dishonest. No clinic can guarantee a pregnancy or a baby. IVF is a powerful treatment, and it helps a great many people, but it does not work for everyone and it does not always work on the first try.
What a Center Is Actually For
People who search for a center for surrogate parenting are usually looking for one thing: a place that will take responsibility. Surrogacy involves several people, several institutions and a long period of time, and it combines medicine, law, money, emotion and travel. Nobody can manage all of that alone. The idea of a center is that one organized place holds the whole process together, so that the intended parents, the surrogate and the child are all protected at each step.
Menopause Does Not End Every Path
For a woman who has gone through menopause, whether naturally, early or because of surgery or medical treatment, the idea of becoming pregnant can seem closed for good. Her ovaries no longer release eggs, and her own eggs are no longer a realistic route. Yet pregnancy depends on more than eggs. It depends on an embryo and on a uterus that can receive it. The uterus, remarkably, can respond to hormones even when the ovaries have stopped working. Combined with eggs from a young donor, this makes pregnancy medically possible for some women after menopause.
First of all, people are trying very hard to have a baby but unfortunately they do not always have a baby with the right way. A woman and a man may always want to have their own baby without any external intervention, but they have to work very hard at it all the time.
Consanguineous marriage is a marriage between closely related individuals. Although it may include incest, it means more than the sexual nature of incest. In a medical sense, marriage between two members of the family who are second or closer cousins counts as consanguineous marriage.
One of the biggest problems of people is not to have a baby. Therefore you need to understand that people always need different methods to be able to have a baby and how much treatment methods are important for them.
Almost everybody can have a baby with the development of the IVF method and the application of new treatment methods.
IVF ("test tube babies") is a method that is applied by couples who are not suitable for being a mother or father because the chance of pregnancy is low. This method was first applied in England in the years of eighties. In our country, it has done successfully since the beginning of the nineties.
